Sault Cookie Statement
Information about cookies and third-party data collection
Sault uses cookies on the website www.sault.nl. Cookies are small information files which are stored on the device used to access the website, like a computer, smartphone or tablet during a visit to the website. When we use the word “cookies”, we’re also referring to similar technologies like pixels, scripts and beacons.
Cookies allow us to recognise your browser. This is handy, because this means the website remembers your details, preferences and settings. This also allows us to improve the functionality of the website, acquire access into the visitor behaviour on the website *and provide other parties with insight into your surfing behaviour so they can display personalised ads about multiple website, leaving out non-relevant ads.
We distinguish between different types of cookies:
Analytical cookies: We use these to analyse how our website is used, for example, how often it is visited, on which page you arrive at our website and which pages are most frequently clicked. No permission is required for these cookies, unless these have no consequences for your privacy.
Tracking cookies: These are cookies that can track your surfing behaviour. This allows us and advertisers to display personalised online ads and customised content on the basis of your surfing behaviour. We ask for your permission to place these cookies.
We use session cookies (which expire when the browser is closed), cookies with a certain retention period (which are automatically deleted after a certain amount of time) and permanent cookies (which remain on your device until they are deleted). Below you’ll find an overview of the cookies we use.

DON’T TRACK ME ANY MORE
Sault doesn’t place any tracking cookies. Sault does display buttons linking to social networks such as LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter and Google. To allow these cookies to function, these social media companies place cookies so they can recognise you when you’re logged into that social network. These social media can also collect your personal data for their own purposes. Sault has no influence over what these parties do with your personal data.
Sault among other things uses Facebook Pixel. This is a script (a piece of code) placed on the website, so that Facebook can collect data about the website’s visitors. This allows them to see who visits which pages. This is however only possible if the visitor is also logged into Facebook. In this way, we can among other things focus our ads very specifically on people who have visited our website. Facebook Pixel isn’t a cookie, but does register visitor data. This allows external parties to potentially use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies for collecting and receiving data from our website and use these elsewhere on the internet to offer tailored services and targeted ads. Do you not want this data to be collected? Then we refer you to: Your Online Choices and also: Conditions for conversion tracking, modified target groups of your website.
You’ll find more information about the cookies used by social media websites and the data they potentially collect in the privacy and cookie statements of the social media in question. Below you’ll find a list of the privacy statements of the social media channels most commonly used by Sault:
It could be the case (in the future) that ads will be displayed on the website without the use of cookies. These ads are then tailored to the content of the website and not based on your behaviour or interests. This type of content-related internet ads can be compared to television ads.
All cookies which are able to identify natural persons are considered to be personal data. As such, one’s IP address is also personal data. We can therefore only place these cookies with your consent. During the first visit to our website you’ll see a cookie notification asking for your permission. You must indicate explicitly whether you consent to the placement of cookies in accordance with our cookie policy (opt-in). We of course also offer you the option of revoking your permission (opt-out). You must then first delete the placed cookies. Upon your subsequent visit to the website, you can then refuse the consent to place cookies. You can also choose to block the placement of cookies through (the settings of) your browser. If necessary, consult the help section of your browser for this. This also blocks the cookies of other websites you visit. Do note that blocking all cookies can affect the functioning of the website. It could be the case that certain functions of the website are lost.
There are various tools for managing cookies, such as the Network Advertising Initiative (NAI) opt-out tool, at networkadvertising.org/choices. This allows you to refuse the use of information about your online activities for online behaviour ads by companies which are members of NAI. There may be another option in your smartphone using the ‘Limit Ad Tracking’ setting (for iOS devices) or an ‘Opt out of Interest-Based Ads’ setting (for Android devices), which allow you to limit the use of information about your use of applications with the goal of delivering ads that are targeted on the basis of your interests. You can find more information about deactivating cookies or managing cookie settings in your browser in the list below:
This statement can be modified in time, for example because our website or the rules for cookies change. If this document is modified, you can see the date of the most recent modifications at the top of the document. The new cookie statement enters into effect at the time of publication. If you do not consent to the modified statement, you must adjust your preferences or consider not using the Sault website anymore.
Go to allaboutcookies.org or youronlinechoices.eu (Europe) for more information about the use of cookies and how to block them. Do you have any questions, requests or complaints about cookies or this cookie statement? Or would you for example like to submit a request for access, correction or deletion?
